Saturday in Temecula – Golf in the morning, Wine & Dine in the Evening

Start your weekend off the right way at the spectacular Journey at Pechanga, one of the most scenic golf courses in all of Temecula. This 15-hole course is part of Pechanga Resort Casino, which boasts numerous dining options to fulfill all tastes and cravings, from Italian fare, to sushi, to their Great Oak Steakhouse.

We recommend keeping it simple and sticking to the Journey’s End restaurant. While it may be called Journey’s End, we suggest starting here for a late breakfast or early lunch – they’re open from 7am but close at 3pm, and the last thing you want to do is rush your game. Get your energy levels up with something from their all-day breakfast menu or one of their delicious ‘sand wedges’, and then it’s time to hit the course.

It’s impossible not to be impressed with Journey at Pechanga – possibly the pinnacle of Temecula Golf. Try not to let the beautiful views distract you too much as you navigate this course, which was impeccably designed by Golf Legend Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest. Then, once you’ve played one of the best games of your life, it’s only an 18-minute drive to Avensole Winery – one of Temecula’s award-winning wineries. This is the perfect place to treat yourself to a delightful wine tasting afternoon. Avensole’s experts will guide you through an expansive range of exceptional wines, allowing you to appreciate the flavors and aromas that make our wine so special.

In addition to award-winning wines, Avensole features one of the most renowned Temecula winery restaurants, with a mouth-watering menu crafted by their talented chefs. You’ve undoubtedly worked up an appetite, so we would recommend the Avensole Burger. The combination of Angus beef, Applewood smoked Bacon, and mozzarella really hits the spot after an eventful day. Whether you decide on this super-satisfying burger or another delectable dish, be sure to ask your waiter for suggestions on the best wine to accompany your meal.

If you were hoping to enjoy some Temecula winery live music along with your dinner, Avensole is definitely the spot for you. There’s a roster of tremendous local artists on Saturdays in both the tasting room and restaurant, serving up a vibrant ambiance along with your meal. The breathtaking vistas and sunset you’ll take in from the restaurant terrace is the cherry on top.

Sunday in Temecula – Brunch, Wine Tour, and an Afternoon Round of Golf

Pick up where you left off and return to Avensole for an indulgent brunch – the best way to prepare for another day of golf, wine, and fun. Experience a taste of Temecula with the Temecula Farmer’s Market Salad, or go big with the scrumptious Steak and Eggs. If you’re a group of three or more, don’t miss out on the Megamosa, made with Avensole’s very own Soirée Sparkling Rose.

Avensole is located in the heart of Temecula’s Rancho California Road, famed for its vineyards, so after brunch you should pay a visit to the tasting room of a neighboring winery (or a couple, if you feel like it!) There are plenty of fantastic wines to sample, and Avensole’s proximity makes it an ideal starting point.

After wine o’clock, head on over to The Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills for a round on another immaculate golf course. Late afternoon is the best time to visit, with the California sun beginning its descent and the golden light setting in. With five lakes, several doglegs, rolling greens, and stroke-stealing bunkers, you’re sure to have a memorable game. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an expert or a novice – this is golf all can enjoy.
