This blend (62% Zinfandel, 27% Syrah, and 11% Petit Sirah) aged in French and American oak barrels for 21 months) has resulted in a unique and fantastic wine. It is rich in blackberry and black cherry fruit, complemented by black licorice and mint, framing silky tannins and a rich lingering finish. We think that when you taste your first glass, you will ask for more. We call this blend “Second Block” to highlight the remarkable taste we expect from the hundred-year-old cuttings we have planted on the sun-drenched west facing second slope of our Estate, which we call the “Second Block”.
